Other sessions will cover: what makes  a good teacher, schools of choice, fundraising, transitions, and the role of  Trustees, Special Education, New healthy food and beverage policy (with a taste  test), Parent Councils, and Parent Involvement Committees. Plus a building full  of parents, policy makers and politicians who are passionate about education,  want to share information, and want to hear what you have to say.<\/p>\n<div><strong>Concussions, Getting the  Facts<\/strong> Nov 9, 7pm, Lawrence Park CI<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>Much of what we learned when we were younger about concussions and  other brain injuries turns out to have been flawed. New research into the brain  has radically altered our understanding of what causes a brain injury, how to  prevent one, how to identify one, and how to help someone recover from one.  Dr. Paul Comper (neuropsychologist), Dr. Mark Leung (Sports Medicine  Physician) and Dr. Robert Brock (Orthopaedic Surgeon\/Sports Medicine Physician)  will brief parents, students, and educators on what we know now.<\/div>\n<div>TDSB is taking a lead in the prevention and management of brain  injuries.
