We also encourage Allenby families to share their celebrations and traditions with us so that we can learn more about each other and connect as a community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yald\u0101<\/strong><strong>\u00a0Night<\/strong><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Yald\u0101 Night, also known as Chelle Night, is a longstanding celebration observed in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Kurdistan and Balochistan,\u00a0during the winter solstice, typically occurring on the night of December 20\/21 in the Gregorian calendar or the night between the conclusion of the ninth month (Azar) and the commencement of the tenth month (Dey) in the Iranian solar calendar.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">This festival, culturally significant in regions influenced by Iranian traditions, marks the longest and darkest night of the year. Families and friends come together to engage in communal activities, including eating, drinking, and reading poetry, particularly works by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/allenbyparents.us9.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=5b5527a684a32a91614edc1de&amp;id=b572aaf76a&amp;e=6eb4078d30\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hafez&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1702600723652000&amp;usg=AOvVaw29JQsaZXqpfbp2z3kMSTKU\">Hafez<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/allenbyparents.us9.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=5b5527a684a32a91614edc1de&amp;id=f3a7d69348&amp;e=6eb4078d30\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shahnameh&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1702600723652000&amp;usg=AOvVaw3z8go_bBXWFGZ2tP-tTRKT\">Shahnameh<\/a>, well into the midnight hours.
