January is almost over, and that means that it is almost time to gear up and start planning the Fun Fair!!\u00a0 We\u2019re looking for some enthusiastic volunteers to join the planning committee for this time-honoured Allenby Event.<\/p>\n
What is Fun Fair? Fun Fair is Allenby\u2019s biggest FUN-draising event of the year. It\u2019s our largest community event with something for everyone – rides, games, food, and most importantly, a chance to come together, enjoy being outside, and have some FUN!\u00a0 This year, the event is scheduled for June 1, 2024.<\/p>\n
Fun Fair is not possible without a committee of volunteers working hard behind the scenes. If you have some time to give over the next few months we hope you\u2019ll consider joining this committee. It\u2019s a great way to get involved and get to know others in the Allenby community. There are many different subcommittees to join including:<\/p>\n
Food<\/strong>: Calling all foodies! This committee plans and procures all of the savory eats and sweet treats for sale during Fun Fair.<\/p>\n Games and Activities<\/strong>: Help plan and organize the carnival-style games that kids play to win tokens. Want to get involved but have limited time? Consider taking on the Candy Guessing Game which requires a limited time commitment (and a love of candy counting).<\/p>\n Style Zone<\/strong>: Fun Fair isn\u2019t complete without a little extra style! This committee purchases supplies and oversees the Style Zone, the place for hair and face paint at the fair.<\/p>\n Prize Room<\/strong>: \u00a0The prize room is where all the Fun Fair participants who have won prize tickets playing the various games and activities can exchange them for fun prizes.\u00a0 This committee is in charge of coming up with, obtaining, and organizing the prizes, and setting up the prize room.<\/p>\n Volunteers<\/strong>: It takes a village to run the Fun Fair. This committee plans, recruits, and organizes all the volunteers needed for the day to run smoothly.<\/p>\n Auction\/Raffle<\/strong>: Help coordinate the Silent Auction and Raffle by reaching out to vendors\/sponsors and buying raffle items.<\/p>\n Tickets and Presales<\/strong>: All Fun Fair purchases are made with tickets which can be purchased before the event or at booths at the event.\u00a0 This committee assists in organizing and encouraging pre-sales for the tickets and wristbands, and in ensuring that the ticket booths on the day are well-stocked and organized.<\/p>\n
