{"id":13539,"date":"2024-04-29T10:05:03","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T14:05:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.allenbyparents.com\/blog2\/?p=13539"},"modified":"2024-04-29T10:05:03","modified_gmt":"2024-04-29T14:05:03","slug":"tdsb-community-awareness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.allenbyparents.com\/blog2\/tdsb-community-awareness\/","title":{"rendered":"TDSB Community Awareness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>TDSB Budget 2024\/2025<\/strong><br style=\"font-weight: 400;\" \/><br style=\"font-weight: 400;\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Next week the TDSB will host a series of Budget Townhall Meetings and you&#8217;re encouraged to attend if you can.<\/span><br style=\"font-weight: 400;\" \/><br style=\"font-weight: 400;\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The TDSB Chair, Rachel Chernos Lin, and fellow Trustees\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tdsb.on.ca\/home\/ctl\/Details\/mid\/43824\/itemid\/282\">called on the Ministry of Education in a recent letter\u00a0<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to address significant funding challenges being experienced by Canada\u2019s largest school board.\u00a0Over recent years, the TDSB has approved a number of operational cuts to programs and services to reduce its deficit. However, these adjustments have not been sufficient to eliminate the deficit in its entirety. Each time an incident takes place in a school, it is to be recorded in a portal which then begins a system response. We have a responsibility to educate against hate. If you experience it, or witness it, report it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Complaints regarding social media postings should be sent directly to the TDSB&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:humanrightsoffice@tdsb.on.ca\">Human Rights Office<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The intake process is being centralized in the Human Rights Office to ensure for consistency of process.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Our Communities<\/span><\/em><br style=\"font-weight: 400;\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Report any allegations of hate-motivated crimes to police for investigation at 416-808-2222 or 9-1-1 in an emergency. We will not tolerate any intimidation, harassment, or hate-motivated behaviour aimed at specific communities. You can also call 1-800-222-TIPS to Crime Stoppers anonymously.<\/span><br style=\"font-weight: 400;\" \/><br style=\"font-weight: 400;\" \/><strong>NEW Toronto Police online option to report hate-motivated graffiti<\/strong><br style=\"font-weight: 400;\" \/><br style=\"font-weight: 400;\" \/><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Toronto Police Service is launching a new option for the public to provide information to police about hate-motivated graffiti in their neighbourhoods.
