Based on the results of last night’s meeting, which are consistent with the results from the March 27, 2013 meeting, parents have clearly expressed their dislike for any option that removes students from Allenby JPS. Accordingly, the message to the TDSB from the parent PART representatives will be loud and clear: Allenby strongly supports the option to build and repurpose space. Allenby does not support removing students from the school.<\/div>\n

Unlike the March 27, 2013 meeting, at last night’s meeting there was no “drill down” as to what rooms to repurpose. \u00a0Your preference as to that question was obtained at the March 27, 2013<\/a> meeting and has been shared with the TDSB.<\/div>\n

PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARE IN ATTENDANCE AT TOMORROW NIGHT’S MEETING AT LAWRENCE PARK (7-9)<\/strong> WHERE YOU WILL BE ASKED BY THE TDSB TO RANK THE VARIOUS OPTIONS.\u00a0 IF YOU HAVE A VIEW ABOUT THESE ISSUES, NOW IS THE TIME TO EXPRESS IT. ALL VOICES ARE NEEDED.<\/div>\n

OPTION C:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Boundary Changes to the North\/East that would feed John Ross Robertson<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

OPTION D:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Bannockburn Early Learning Years Academy (JK\/SK)<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Parents in attendance were asked to rank each option and also to assign a weighted preference to each ranked option.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

  • The only palatable option for parents at Allenby PS to address FDK and the increased enrollment expected in 2014 is OPTION A (build 2 rooms \/repurpose the additional required rooms\/reduce enrollment going forward for French immersion students)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      \n
    • While the remaining options are all unpalatable, here is the order they were ranked (from the best of the bad options to the worst of the bad options):<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

        \n
          \n
        • Repurpose Space as a standalone option (including space currently used by daycare)<\/li>\n
        • \u00a0 Re-open Bannockburn as an early learning academy for duel track JK\/SK students<\/li>\n
        • Boundary Change – build at North Prep<\/li>\n
        • Boundary Change- build at JRR<\/li>\n
        • \u00a0Re-open Bannockburn as a grade 5\/6 school for duel track Allenby students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n

          As the numbers below indicate, there was little difference in the ranking between the two boundary options. By far the most undesirable option was to reopen Bannockburn for grade 5\/6 students.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
