Just pull up westbound to the orange pylons on Castlefield Avenue between 08:40 and 09:00 and a volunteer will open the car door for your kid(s). If they are in grade 1 or 2, we will help with their bags and mittens and escort them to the stairs down to the yard. If they are older or want their independence, we will only help if asked, no problem. Once your kid has given you your kiss (should you be so lucky&#8230;.), you simply drive away, never having even gotten out of the drivers seat! How easy was that?<\/p>\n<p>In order for this program to work, we ask parents\/grandparents\/caregivers to respect the (no)parking signs, and keep the entire zone all the way from avenue road through to the orange pylons clear of vehicles from 08:40 to 09:00. Also if you plan to use KnR, it is best if your kids are prepared with their bags packed and agendas signed before you pull into the drop-off zone, as there may well be other cars\/families waiting for their turn.<\/p>\n<p>And of course, we are short of parent volunteers to help ensure the efficient operation of this program. Aall it takes is 20 minutes in the morning when you might well be at school anyway, once a week or every two weeks, with no meetings or prep. Volunteering at KnR is a fun, easy, stress-free way to help in the safe arrival of our kids at school, and to get their day started off on the right foot!
