\nThis is a reminder for all students who bring their scooters, skateboards, long boards and bikes to school. Scooters, skateboards, long boards and bikes may be used to get to school, but are NOT to be used on school property. Students must walk their bikes onto school property and lock them up at the bike racks. This is important not only for safety but for the longevity of our new turf field which should not have wheels on it.<\/p>\n
\nAt Allenby, we set high standards for academic success, social development and behaviour. These standards are reflected in the degree of effort we put into our programs, the respectful language we use, our consideration for others and the manner in which we present ourselves, including our dress. Although there is no dress code, there are a few expectations to ensure a safe, inclusive and respectful atmosphere. Running shoes are required for gym class and hats are not be worn indoors except for religious or cultural headwear. We want to ensure that we all dress in a manner conducive with a positive learning environment, striking a balance between personal expression and appropriate attire.<\/p>\n
\nWe continue to have a problem with dog feces on school property. Although there are many signs restricting dogs at any time on the weekend or weekdays, it is clear that many local residents are not following this rule. To make matters worse, some owners are allowing their dogs to poop on the property without the requisite clean-up afterwards. It is disappointing that people are not being respectful of the property, especially one that is the daytime home for hundreds of children every day. Please help us by reminding any dog owners that you see during off-hours of the rule and the impact this behaviour can have on children\u2019s health.<\/p>\n
