We were all horrified and saddened by the events in Connecticut on Friday.<\/p>\n
Please find attached a letter<\/a> from Director Spence and also with some tips<\/a> for communicating with children about this kind of event.<\/p>\n You need to know that in the school there has been, and will be, no general announcement addressing this issue. Teachers will also not initiate conversations but have also received some guidelines about how to discuss the issue if questions come from the children.We work to maintain our normal routines and to be reassuring when questions arise. We would like to emphasize that this was a completely unexpected event in Sandy Hook, which has always been a quiet and safe community.<\/p>\n We need to reinforce our request that all visitors to the school check in at the office regardless of how well we may know you. It is a safety measure that should be completely routine.
