Dear Parents,<\/p>\n
Over the past week there have been many initiatives and events that have brought the spirit of Valentine’s Day alive at Alllenby. Our grade 5\/6 class participated in “Random Acts of Kindness” week bringing smiles to staff and students alike while inspiring others to “pay it forward.” A grade\u00a05 class created heart pins to distribute to anyone that they see feeling down while a grade\u00a03 class created friendship pins to give to their peers and adults in the building who exhibit kindness. Acts of kindness\u00a0were extended to those outside of our building with a grade 5\/6 class writing letters to me explaining their learning about the refugee crisis and their commitment to make a difference. The entire school enjoyed frozen yogurt on Valentine’s Day while raising money for Kids Help Phone<\/a>, all because of the efforts of our Free the Children team at Allenby.<\/p>\n Finally today\u00a0the staff will celebrate the end of Secret Valentine week with a potluck lunch.
