International Walk to School Day is Wednesday, October 9th and is also Allenby’s first Walking Wednesday of the school year! We can increase children’s awareness of environmental issues such as reducing pollution while promoting student safety and a healthy lifestyle.
Each month a different class will be creating a poster to advertise Walking Wednesday to the students, starting with Mme Linka’s class.
Parents and students help to count children walking as they arrive at school. Participants will receive a special sticker from the ‘iwalk club’ and a surprise token. Each month, the class with the greatest percentage of walkers receives the “smelly sneaker award!”
