Every month, the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) focuses on a different character trait as part of the Character Development program.
November’s focus is on Empathy followed by December’s focus on Kindness & Caring. To help your children put these traits into action, please consider one or all of the following outreach activities:
APA Winter Clothing Drive
The APA’s third annual winter clothing drive will kick off on November 21 until Giving Tuesday on November 29. Donate your children’s gently used and washed winter coats, snow pants, hats, mittens and boots outside the office and they will be delivered to students at neighbouring TDSB schools in need.
Grade Six Students’ Food Drive Continues
Also this month, Allenby’s Grade Six Food Drive Leadership Group continues their non-perishable food drive collection for the North York Harvest Food Bank until Friday, November 25. Collection boxes are outside every classroom.
New this year – Toronto Abundance Program
If any Allenby families would like to get together to create a hamper for a TDSB family in need during the evening of Friday, December 9, please email Amber Christie. Or get your own family together to sponsor a family by visiting the Toronto Abundance Program and attend a Drop-In Tea on Monday, November 14 10:00-12:00pm to pick up a family profile.
