African Heritage (Black History) Month

February is African Heritage Month (Black History) in Canada. TDSB recognizes this month with the theme Lift Every Voice. This theme encourages collective strength and unity among the African/Black diaspora. Black Canadians have been largely ignored for their contributions as key parts of our history. A celebration of vibrant and diverse cultures, experiences, perspectives, contemporary realities, contributions, and achievements helps us reflect on those contributions and celebrate diversity. Now is a great time to explore the amazing Black Canadians who have contributed so much to our communities.
