Chairs’ Message

November has shaped up to be a busy month in terms of APA initiatives.

Alex Russell, November 22nd from 7:00pm to 9:00pm – Alex Russell, clinical psychologist, will be speaking in the Allenby Gym about how parents can take a positive and emotionally rewarding role in their children’s lives, while allowing them to have the opportunity to make their own decisions—and mistakes—during the complicated business of growing up. We currently have over 200 parents RSVP’d to this event.

APA Meeting, November 29th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm – The November APA meeting will be held in the Library on Wednesday November 29th. Our APA Executive Committee will be providing updates on all APA initiatives and what’s coming up in the New Year. Principal O’Toole will be sharing the 2016/2017 Allenby PS EQAO results as well as the school budget. We’ve also allocated a significant portion of the meeting to open discussion. We’d like to hear parents’ feedback, ideas and questions on anything APA-related. The full agenda is here.

Please contact Valerie Midmer before Friday, November 24th if you would like to attend the meeting but require childcare. Please note that due to licensing restrictions childcare is designated for children ages 3+.

Family Night Out, November 30th from 6:00pm to 9:30pm – The APA’s Fall Fundraiser has switched gears this year (literally!). Please join us for a fun-filled, family-focused night that also aims to raise money in support of APA programs and initiatives like Experts in the School, Classroom Enhancement Grants and Shared Budget Spending with the School (literacy, technology, arts and phys ed). Visit the APA website for more information.

Thanks in advance for your support and participation Allenby!
