A number of Allenby parents and local residents were present to discuss the proposed bylaw, restricting eastbound turns onto Castlefield Avenue from Castlewood Avenue during student arrival and dismissal times. There was general support for this restriction coupled with a restriction on westbound traffic travelling on St. Clements from Avenue Road.
At this time city traffic services will not support a complete restriction of traffic travelling Westbound on St. Clements during student arrival and dismissal times.
There was consensus at the meeting to improve traffic congestion and school zone safety through student and parent education and outreach, increased use of Kiss N’ Ride, increased bylaw and parking enforcement and an increase in students walking to school.
