We are still looking for parents to take on some of the EcoSchool duties from Alex Vilde, who will be leaving Allenby after this year. The idea is to learn from Alex some of the activities she has been involved in and what has worked for each task in the past. Below is a list of some of the duties and the time commitment for the major items. You do not need to volunteer for everything, but we would like to find people to continue some of the more important jobs so we can keep Allenby’s as a Gold EcoSchool rating.
- Eco-audits: 20 minutes, 2 times per month during the day at recess (from October to June). This is done with grade 5 and possibly grade 6 students.
- Bulb planting : 1-2 days in October (organize the bulb planting for every student in Allenby). We have planted over 7000 bulbs in 4 years let’s keep it going.
