Fresh Signs and Safety Refresher

There are more than 800 people moving on and off the Allenby property every day. Please take a moment to consider how your arrival affects those around you and remember to think of safety over convenience every time.

  • There is absolutely NO PARKING during school hours in the Kindergarten Zone on Castlefield or the Bus Loading Zone on St. Clements. It is illegal and puts children’s safety at risk.
  • Permit parking signs on both Castlefield and St. Clements have changed to allow parking from 8:30 a.m. With legal on-street parking available, there is no reason to compromise safety by parking in the Kindergarten Zone, Bus Loading Zone or Kiss ‘N’ Ride Stretch.
  • If you opt to park on Castlefield or St. Clements, please park west of the school building.
  • For grades 1 to 6, your absolute best driving arrival option is the Kiss ‘N’ Ride Service on the school side of Castlefield. It operates daily from 8:45 – 9:00 a.m. to match the playground monitoring schedule. For more details, please refer to Health and Safety page of the Allenby Parents website.
  • City Council has recently approved No Parking in the Kiss N Ride Zone between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. New signs will appear shortly. In the meantime, please respect the Kiss N Ride Service and allow it to operate safely and efficiently by leaving the zone completely free.
  • Driving west along Castlefield and east along St. Clements will greatly ease traffic flow.
  • If you decide you must turn around, do not do so near school property. There are too many pedestrians and you will cause too much congestion.
  • Please be reminded that police will be in the area to ticket those parking illegally or driving unsafely.
  • Walking is always the best choice for safety, mental and physical health, and the health of our environment.

Here’s to a safe and considerate year.
