Finally, spring has sprung. This week, the grade 6 eco-leader group planted the plants donated by Canada Blooms and a neighbour of Allenby. unfortunately we ended up with more incidental loss than expected due to the colder than usual weather, but we did plant over 40 plants in total on May 25th.
The English grade 5 and 6’s calculated the amount of mulch for the gardens during the math open house, and our head caretaker has put in the order. I will be looking for parents/high school students to help put the mulch on the gardens. I will let you know when we are expecting it so we can set up a date for mulching.
Our last mini audit of the year also took place this week. The results were much better than the one in February.
Please let Alex Vilde know if you would be interested in volunteering or donating plants for our gardens by e-mailing her at alex.vilde@rogers.com.
