The Grade 6 Me to We Team will be hosting a bake sale on Thursday December 8th in support of The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Foundation. In addition to the bake sale, the Me to We Team is also running a jelly bean count for junior students and a hershey kisses count for primary students. Guesses are $0.50 cents per guess. Guessing will start on Monday December 5th and the winners will be announced on December 9th.
The Foundation is focused on cross-cultural education to support healing and recovery among Canada’s Indigenous People. The fund fosters new relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Peoples, while strengthening the voices and work of groups already making a difference.
Allenby’s Me to We initiative aims to inspire students to work together to show that we can make a difference in the lives of Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. Baking is available to any Allenby students that wish to participate. and will be sold by the Grade 6 Me to We team.
The sale will run during morning and afternoon recess on Thursday and remaining items will also be sold during morning recess on Friday.
