Allenby students have had a banner year so far!! We’re very excited to announce that Allenby has won “Triple Crown”. Our grade 6 boys football, our grade 6 boys baseball and our grade 6 girls baseball all competed and are conference champs. All 3 teams advanced to the city finals!
Allenby Football
Our boys grade 6 football team played in the city semi-finals on Tuesday against Brown Public School. It was a great game, but the boys lost 19-14. They were undefeated going into the semifinals, so they should be really proud of their efforts this season! Thanks to Mr.G for all his time spent on practices and games.
Allenby Baseball
Our grade 6 boys and grade 6 girls baseball teams competed on Monday in the city finals. Our boys were runners up, after losing in the final game by 1 run! What a close game!! Congratulations boys on an incredible season. Our girls team finished their season by winning both their semi and final games. Congratulations girls on being TDSB City Champions!
Our teams have exceeded the expectations of the coaches and we couldn’t be more proud of our athletes. As the banners arrive, they will be put on display in the office. A big thank-you to Ms.Anderson, who took on coaching the boys baseball.
Cross Country
We had over 230 runners from grades 1-6 attend the TDSB cross country meet at Earle Bales Park. From there, Allenby had 35 students finish within the top 40 (grades 3-6 only) and those students got to move onto the conference level. Allenby then had 19 students finish in the top 20 and they got to run in the city finals last week. The finals were very exciting for our incredible Allenby runners. Special mention for our grade 4 boys, who collectively brought home silver. Special mention also for Olivia Cesta who finished 3rd overall.
