Principal’s Message

First Fire Drill of the year

This week, we completed our first Fire Drill of the school year with three Toronto Fire Services representatives on site to monitor both our equipment and procedures. The new electronic alarms throughout the building worked very well and we also received passing grades for exiting the building in a safe and timely manner.

Requests to the Office

The school has grown so we will be practicing more Fire Drills and Lock Down Drills this year. With the larger student population though, we have found that the office is even busier than before. Please remember that with almost 830 students, our wonderful office staff (Jamie and Renee) do not have time to assist with some of the requests that are called in each day. Please arrange events such as playdates in advance as the school will no longer be helping set them up or reminding students about them, as well as appointments or sports practices. Let’s work together to encourage our students to be more independent.

Curriculum Night

We look forward to seeing parents and guardians at our Curriculum Night starting at 6:30 p.m. in the gymnasium on Tuesday, September 23.   Please remember that this is for adults only as we do not have space to accommodate children.  The content of the presentations are also geared for an adult audience.
