It has, as always, been a busy term in sports, with many of our students participating in Track and Field, and our Soccer Teams participating in conference games. Here is Mr. G’s update.
Track and Field
There were about 50 participants from Allenby in this year;’s South Conference Track and Filed Meet at U. of T. The following students advanced to the finals on June 14th: Danielle Konig, Jacob Latham Basile Montagnese and the boys’ Relay Team, Andrew Roberts, Liam Hicks, Jacob Latham and Connor Lipinski. Jacob came in 9t overall in the 800 m., Basile came in 12th overall in the 400 m., and Danielle came 6th overall in the 800m. The Relay Team came 2nd in their heat but finished 10th out of 16 teams overall. Congratulations to all the finalists.
Soccer
Congratulations to both the girls’ and boys’ soccer teams for a fine season. The girls finished the season with a 2 win, 2 loss record, but the future looks very bright for the girls as many of our stronger players will return next year. A big thank you to Coaches Intini and Roberts for their time.
The boys’ team consisted of a very strong group of players. The team finished first in their division and advanced to the Conference Championship only to lose 1 – 0. Nevertheless, the boys had an excellent season, giving up only one goal. We congratulate them on their wonderful effort this year.
