Principal’s message

Dear Parents,

I have just arrived home following the first APA meeting of the year and I am elated with both the expansive executive council we have this year and with the parent turn out to our first meeting. I look forward to sharing more information about Allenby, our staff and the role that parents can play in partnership with the school at the Curriculum Night next week in the gym from 6:30-7pm.

One of the concerns brought forward following the meeting was in regards to pick up at the end of the day. I would like to remind Grade 1 to 6 parents that they are to wait for their children in the schoolyard (at the bottom of the stairs). Kindergarten parents are to wait outside of the kindergarten yard and away form the main doors. We have hundreds of students exiting the main doors and it is not safe for parents to wait in this area. A teacher is on duty each day at the flagpole and they have been directing parents to the lower yard, and yet as we complete the first month of school, this is a message that I want to address once again. I thank you for your ongoing support and assistance in ensuring the safety of our students.
