A Message from the Allenby Library

To all parents and caregivers, we need your voices! This year’s Forest of Reading Contest is off to a great start. Students from Grades 3–6 have five contests to choose from. Please encourage your child to participate!

We have two events planned for our K-2 classes on Wednesday, April 8th (Blue Spruce Award for English Readers) and Wednesday, April 15th (Le Prix Peuplier for French Readers). Both events will take place in the morning. Who will be the readers? Our staff are ready and willing, but it would be exciting to have a few guest readers! If you are interested in reading, please contact Alanna Julian. If you have a job with a uniform (tool belt, hard hat, apron, scrubs, an instrument) or have a shared history or experiences with one of the authors or characters (dragon boats, bannock, Jamaican patties, poutine, engineering, moving to a new country, punk rock dad, super moms), or you just love to read aloud, our K-2 students would love to hear you read.

Email me here to let me know whether you want to read for the French or English event, and if you have a preferred book.
