FDK Update

The first PART meeting was held on Feb 13th. This meeting was the start of the official consultations on space pressures due to increasing enrolment and for Full Day Kindergarten (FDK). The PART meeting was predominantly spent reviewing the data that the TDSB provided. To view this data, click on this Ward 8 Program Area Review link. There are a few summary slides that will give you a good overview; In particular 10.1 and 11.1. Our Space/FDK Committee met this week to review this information and look at internal space within our school. Other schools will be reviewing the data as well as exploring internal space within their schools in preparation for the next PART meeting.

It appears that the plan is to make this a collaborative process. The next PART meeting will be held on Feb 26th and the first Public Meeting will be held on March 21st. No decisions will be made before this time. The goal is to consult with all of the schools involved and try to find a solution that works for the schools as well as Ward 8 as a whole. Allenby will be holding a Space Committee meeting on Feb 20th to review the data and potential options. We will have Howard Goodman at our next APA meeting on Feb 28th. If you have any questions, this will be a great opportunity to have a conversation as a school and with Howard Goodman.

A Q and A doc was sent out on the weekend. It will hopefully provide answers to whichever questions were not answered by the data in the Ward 8 Program Area Review. Our goal is to communicate to the Allenby parent base as best we can.
