The schoolyard is finally looking less like a construction zone for our students. There will continue to be some work left undone until the railing is completed along the north side of the front stairs. Despite the additional space that will be available for the students at recess, Allenby is still running over capacity inside and out. Many families choose to have students remain at school for the lunch period. On hot lunch days, servers are trying to work as quickly as possible in our crowded space. The noise level is understandably loud due the number of students having some down time. On hot lunch days, the students are even more excited and often not focused on following expectations, particularly the grades 4 to 6 students. With Thanksgiving on our minds, we are asking for your support in reminding students that there is always plenty of hot lunch food however we expect that students permit others to have their first serving before anyone goes up for seconds. We hope that everyone enjoys some relaxing family time this weekend.
