September Sports Update

Cross Country

All students from grades 1-6 are able to participate in Cross Country running.  In order to participate, students must sign-up during the first week of school and get a permission form.  Primary classrooms will be visited by one of the coaches (Mme. Payne or Mrs. McGee) to allow students to sign-up and hand out permission forms during the first week of school.  There will be a meeting for all Junior students on Thursday September 6 at afternoon recess to sign-up and distribute permission forms.

Practices will begin Tuesday September 11 at 8:15, and will run every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings at 8:15-8:45 until the meet.

Our first meet will be on Monday October 1 at Ashbridges Bay.  Students who qualify at the first meet will compete in the Conference Finals at Ashbridges Bay on October 10, and any qualifying runners from the second meet will compete at the City Finals on October 18.

All students must return permission forms as well as the $5 to cover the cost of the buses at the first practice.

We require lots of parent volunteers to run with the students in the morning at practices, be stationed at corners to supervise the practice run route, and also to accompany us on the day of the meet. Please consider volunteering. Speak with Mme. Payne or Mrs. McGee at the first practice or contact them at school as soon as possible.
