We have had an unfilled teaching position since the first day of school supporting ESL students and providing prep payback to primary classes. I am happy to announce that Evra Trought-Pitters will be filling this position starting on Monday. I know that Ms. Trought-Pitters will do an excellent job supporting students learning English and working with our primary teachers to support math instruction, specifically problem-solving. As excited as Evra is at this new opportunity, she is certainly saddened to be leaving her grade four classroom.Noah Cohen will be taking over as the teacher in Room 210 on Monday. Mr. Cohen is extremely excited about teaching grade four at Allenby and he comes highly recommended and certainly blew Ms. Themeliopoulos and myself away with his enthusiasm, creativity and commitment to teaching and learning. He will be an excellent addition to the staff at Allenby. This Friday, Mr. Cohen will work alongside Ms. Trought-Pitters while getting to know the students in advance of his official start on Monday. We will support Mr. Cohen and the students in Room 210 to ensure the smoothest possible transition.
