We Day was an experience of a lifetime for Rachel, Eric and Zack. The stars that performed were amazing. Some of the people that sang were Jennifer Hudson, Hedley, K’naan and Nelly Furtado.
We Day is an important event where schools gather together to see performances and inspirational speeches from people such as Al Gore, Mark and Craig Keilburger and other inspiring speakers.
Some things the speakers said were that some kids around the world have little to no rights which is therefore taking away their voice. This is why we do the vow of silence. Another thing that touched our hearts is when a man named Spencer West came on stage with only half of his body and told us the story of him climbing the largest mountain in Africa.
On We Day, we learned that there are kids in the world who are starving and don’t have the right to have clean drinking water, food to eat and shelter. This really made us appreciate what we have in our lives because we do have all of these rights.
We Day made us realize that we want to help those in need and you should too!
