Character Education is an integral component of a day at Allenby. Each morning, grade 6 students present the morning announcements for our school community and read a famous quote relating to the monthly character trait. To date, we have highlighted Respect, Responsibility, Empathy, Kindness and Caring & Teamwork. This month, February, we are focusing on FAIRNESS and have already completed a WE ARE LOVE campaign supporting FREE THE CHILDREN.
The ECO CLUB is now promoting awareness of the effects of global warming with the WWF POLAR BEAR WEEK. Students have been hearing about Polar Bear facts this week during the announcements. The ECO CLUB is asking staff and students to bring in a coin donation for the WWF Polar Bear fund to help preserve the threatened Arctic region.
With March just days away, our FREE THE CHILDREN Club is adding some fun to the school with the Dance-a-thon on March 6th. Everyone is invited to wear our school colours, green and yellow/gold, to earn some points for her/his house. Do your children know their house name or colour? White Bison – Yellow Eagle – Red Coyote – Black Grizzly Bear.
