Thank you to everybody for remembering to phone in when your child is sick, away, or late. The number for attendance verification is 416-393-9114.
It is not enough to tell your child’s teacher, with a note or in person, that your child will be absent. If your child is away and you haven’t called, we must call your child’s class (disturbing the lesson) and confirm your child’s absence. Then, we need to call you to make sure your child is indeed sick. (If your number is incorrect or the computers are slow, this can take even more time.) On some days, this can mean parent volunteers are in the office volunteering for 3 hours for a job that could take less than an hour.
More importantly, it also means that it can take longer than necessary to locate your child. For the sake of your child’s safety, please always call in.
