For the past 4 years the Allenby Parent’s Association has arranged to have every child in the school plant a bulb. Over the past 4 years Allenby students, staff and parents have planted approximately 4000 bulbs. We are hoping that in our 5th anniversary we will be able to plant another 1000 bulbs to bring our grand total of bulbs planted to 5000.
We now have confirmed dates for this year’s bulb planting, and are looking for volunteers to help get the classes in and out of the school and dig the holes to plant the bulbs in. We are also looking for someone who would be interested in observing this year’s planting to take it over next year. This year’s dates are November 2 and 3. You may also check with your child’s teacher to see when they will be planting if you would like to assist your child’s class.
Several parents have generously offered their time to take over some of the EcoSchool and library jobs that Alex has done in the past. We are still looking for volunteers to take over such things as our fall bulb planting, and boomerang lunch.
